THE POWER OF FORGIVENESS
(Inspired by “Holy Water” performed by We The Kingdom)
Forgiveness is one of the greatest gifts God offers His children. In “Holy Water,” We The Kingdom paints vivid imagery of forgiveness as honey on the lips, a symphony to the ears, and refreshing water to the soul. These images capture the beauty of grace that both restores and transforms. The song acknowledges human weakness—moments of wandering, failing, and sinning—yet declares the daily need for God’s mercy.

The Christian life requires constant dependence on grace. Paul reminded believers that where sin increased, grace increased all the more (Romans 5:20). Grace is not a license to sin; it is the power that makes real change possible. As the song declares, ‘I don’t wanna abuse Your grace; God, I need it every day.’ This confession reflects true repentance: a turning from sin out of love for the One who forgives.

In workplaces, homes, and communities, forgiveness is often hard to give and harder to receive. Yet the forgiveness of God sets the standard and provides the strength to extend grace to others. Just as water refreshes the weary, God’s mercy revives hearts weighed down by guilt or bitterness. Walking in that forgiveness allows believers to live with freedom, joy, and hope. To drink deeply of God’s mercy each day is to live in constant renewal.
